Bucks County Teacher of the Year! Please VOTE!!!

Congratulations to Mr. Hottenstein as he was nominated for the Bucks County Teacher of the Year award! If you have had the opportunity to meet Mr. Hottenstein, this doesn't come to you as a shock. Mr. H. arrives each morning at 6:30AM ready for a full day's worth of work. If you can't find him cleaning the school grounds, perhaps he is planting a tree, or tending to the community garden. Better yet, he might be with an Eagle Scout planning their service project. If he's not there, he might be running the Knick-Nack Shack. Or possibly, he might be filming a commericial for the Jamison Today Show or working with the CB District Science Supervisor on a new video. If you didn't know, Mr. Hottenstein is all over You Tube demonstrating Science experiments for CB teachers. If he still can't be found, he's probably in the cafeteria talking to the students about recycling juice pouches or other ways to be "green". If he actually has a minute or two to spare, he might be writing a personalized letter to one of his students. But I promise, if he's not doing anything listed above, he can be found in his favorite spot in school...his classroom. That is where the real magic takes place. However, and more importantly, behind all the teacher recognition, Mr. Hottenstein's greatest asset is that he is a loving father of six children and TEACHES them on a daily basis about being "others-centered".

Mr. Hottenstein, congratulations on your nomination!

Community members,

Day Of Service

Congratulations to Ms. Young and the Make a Difference Kids! Jamison was just made aware that CB Cares has decided to recognize Jamison Elementary with an “Assets in Action” Award for the MLK Day of Service initiative. For the first time in the history of CB Cares – Jamison is the very first school to have 100% of the student body represent the Boomerang Asset (#9 “Service to Others”). What a terrific accomplishment for Ms. Young, the Make a Difference Kids, the Jamison Staff, and the entire student body.

Jump Rope For Heart

Jamison will once again participate in the Jump Rope For Heart program (benefiting the American Heart Association). For the past seven years, Mr. Battis has organized this wonderful event. Please note that there isn't any pressure whatesover for you to make a financial contribution. You are more than welcome to participate, but please don't feel obligated to do so. Mr. Battis reviewed the program with the students, discussed the importance of making people aware of heart health, and stressed safety precautions in raising money. If you have any questions, information was sent home in your child's Wednesday Folder or you may contact Mr. Battis at gbattis@cbsd.org. Our day of Jump Roping will be held on Friday, February 14th....the snow date will be February 21st.

Father Daughter Dance

For the past 15 years, Mrs. Cinque and Mrs. Rimensnyder have been hosting the "Father-Daughter" dance at Jamison. Their efforts in planning, organizing, and running this special event haven't gone unnoticed. This event has become a staple at Jamison and means so much to many girls and fathers. I want to personally thank Mrs. Cinque, Mrs. Rimensnyder, and all the volunteers for a terrific night. What a wonderful evening seeing so many men with their daughters/step-daughters at school. Once again, THANK YOU!
