A Note from Mrs. Halligan
Birmingham Parents,
Fall temps have finally made it our way, well kind of. :) The cool mornings have been nice. Speaking of mornings, we need your help. The number of students arriving after 7:30 each day is quite large. Announcements begin at 7:35 and teachers begin instruction directly following. If your child arrives after 7:30, they are missing out on important instruction. Any student arriving after 7:35 will need to have a parent walk into the office and sign them in. The doors open each day at 7:00 and breakfast is served, which is free this school year. Please help your child not miss out on any important instruction and make sure that they are here each day by 7:30.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Halligan

Districtwide Education Improvement Council
Our Districtwide Education Improvement Council (DWEIC) is taking nominations for parents, community members, and businesses who would like to serve as advisory members on the council. If you would be interested in serving, please fill out this nomination form by Wednesday, September 22. An election will be held after the nomination period. Elected members will be notified by September 29. For more information about DWEIC, please visit www.wylieisd.net/DWEIC.
Socioeconomic Survey
The district has sent out communication to Wylie ISD families asking them to complete a new socioeconomic survey. During the student registration process for the 2021-22 school year, all Wylie ISD families were asked to complete a Socioeconomic Information Survey. The district recently received updated guidance on the income eligibility guidelines that increased the income thresholds families could qualify for benefits.
For those families who qualify based on income, there are numerous benefits including:
College readiness waivers and discounts including SAT, ACT and AP exam fees and college application fees
Free dual credit courses through Collin College
NCAA fee waivers
Wylie Way Christmas eligibility
Various other district discounts
Increased state funding for Wylie ISD to help at-risk students
The survey can be found in Skyward Family Access and the deadline to complete the survey is October 8, 2021.
Any questions, please contact assist@wylieisd.net.
