they appear white or light grey in color. they are thin wispy strands

composed of ice crystals they are thing and hard to spot


cirrocumulus

can be made of ice crystals or small water droplets. hard to spot because they change so often


altostratus

they are lighter in color layered which makes them easier to spot


altocumulus

found usually in a warm front. they can be layered or rolling easy to spot



cumulonimbus

usually at the beginning of a rain or thunderstorm you will see these. they are a dark rolling cloud


stratocumulus

large dark round shaped clouds in lower altitude


nimbostratus

they are a formless cloud with usually a darker color. they cover in sheets


cumulus

low altitude cloud large white or grey usually spread out very visible


stratus

horizontal layering flat usually associated with fog low to the ground
