Parent Update from WNHS
May 11, 2020
PE Lockers
Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM, there will be a virtual meeting for all the girls who want to still claim their stuff. We will show them what is in each bag individually and they can message in during the meeting that this is their bag. Bags will be marked to be picked up on the next distribution date.
Boy's lockers will be dealt with differently because we have 2 times as many bags of boys things as we do the girls. If the boys want to still try to get their PE things, they need to email ppodgorski@wcusd200.org or eweaver@wcusd200.org and make arrangements for how to do this.
If this still does not get the bags back to the students, all students returning in the Fall will have to opportunity to look at the bags with their PE teachers. Any Senior can contact us at that time and come in to look for their things.
Turning in Materials
We are going to do one more big exchange day. The Seniors bring in their things, and we give them back several things.
Seniors will get these items IF THEY ARE FULLY PAID: yearbooks, caps and gowns, senior banners, PE things that are still here. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT FOR ANY ITEMS DURING THIS PICK UP DAY. If you still need to pay for things in advance of this pick up day, please contact APanos@wcusd200.org for information of how to pay for specific items.
Seniors should plan to turn in: Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, electronic devices such as cameras or PLTW devices, uniforms.
Students in grades 9-11 will not turn in materials until it is safer for us to do this. Since all of these students will be back with us in the Fall, we can arrange for them to turn them in at a later date.
If you know that you will not be returning to a D200 school this fall, please contact Maria Sandall at msandall@wcusd200.org to arrange to get your records, pay any remaining balances, and turn in your materials.
Please be patient and continue to push your kids to communicate with you. I do communicate with them on a daily basis.
Grades for Seniors
Please trust that we are fully aware of all legislation that has been posted by the Governor or ISBE in relation to grades for Seniors. The biggest hurdle that many Seniors still must overcome is the need to earn 222 credits. Students that earn a P in any class will still earn credits, but a P does not change their GPA.
The best thing that you can do as a parent is check Home Access and see what your student is doing. Your student's counselor is still fully available by email. Please reach out to them if you are unsure about any course requirements or your student's status toward graduation.
