Montevideo Elementary Schools 3.10.23

Daylight Savings Time
Daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March 12, 2023, when the clocks skip ahead an hour at 2 a.m. While we enjoy having sunlight later into the evening, daylight savings can be an abrupt change to our sleep schedules that can be especially tough for kids. If you are able to adjust gradually, that can be helpful. Resist that temptation to allow kids to sleep in on daylight savings day. It may take our bodies a few days to adjust to the time change. If your child may have trouble falling asleep, make sure to get plenty of exercise, keep the room dark at bedtime and try to add light to the room in the morning. Prepare to return to school by making the morning routine as quick as possible, have clothes laid out and a to go breakfast, in case the morning feels rushed. While the snow doesn't make us feel like it... spring is just around the corner!

Come see, The Bear Went Over the Mountain!
Surely there is more to life than eating honey and berries, and sleeping the winter away, right? One day, Da Bear decides to expand his horizons and journey up the mountain (to see what he could see, of course). But beware...what's lurking over there? Come along and see what Da Bear and his animal buddies discover!

Sanford Spring Program
Featuring 3rd Graders and the 4th Grade Choir
Sanford 3rd graders will present A Barnyard Moosical on March 23rd at 7:15. The 4th grade choir will also be singing a few selections.
All 3rd graders and 4th grade choir students, should arrive at Montevideo High School by 7:00 p.m. and report behind the risers. Families and guests can be seated.
A permission form was sent home with 3rd grade students if they were chosen for a role or speaking part. Fourth grade choir students and third grade narrators can wear any nice, ordinary clothes. If they have a special spring outfit, this is the perfect time to wear it! Line Dancers can wear any country style attire; denim skirts or jeans, bandanas. If you have cowboy boots, show them off! Cows, chickens, pigs, and goats can wear what they have planned for their costumes. Simple, budget friendly ideas were included on the permission form.
Come see the Singin' and Swingin' Barnyard Moosical!
It is a hilarious and imaginative mini-musical about a unique and talented group of animals living at this unusual farm. Between the gourmet goats that refuse to eat garbage, a chorus line of hoofing cows, neatnik pigs and funky dancing chickens, the musical will be sure to tickle the imagination of performers and audiences alike.
Youth Wrestling Visits PE
We had united youth wrestling coaches at Ramsey on February 27th. Coaches taught the students gymnastics movements that help with not only wrestling, but other sports as well. The students learned different forward rolls and how to do a cartwheel. Finally they got to watch a video of our state wrestling united team!
