We look forward to starting school on August 23rd Wildcat Strong!

We welcomed back all of our staff and teachers this week for trainings and inservice! We are very excited to get school started on Monday August 23rd and look forward to a great school year in our Diamond R-IV Schools. We have been working hard all summer to improve many of our services and facilities for our students and teachers. Hopefully you have had a chance to see our new district digital sign on the highway and some of our campus changes in the works. You should have received a welcome back packet that was mailed this last Friday, email/text notifications about our change of our Student Information System (SIS) from Lumen to PowerSchool, and notification about our new enrollment system. Please make sure to take the time to follow the step by step examples to get your students information updated in PowerSchool. All parents need to do the online enrollment even if your students have been enrolled in our district in the past as we need updated contact information so we can better communicate with you about important school information.

There were many great teacher curriculum trainings, learning opportunities, and activities happening throughout the summer and I saw many examples of people doing everything they could to help our students succeed. Please continue to follow our Facebook pages, Twitter, and website (new and improved website is coming soon) for updates and information. Below you will see a few examples of the many great things going on in our district. We look forward to a great school year and to improving daily for each Diamond R-IV student and staff member to CONTINUE THE CHANGE for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. We hope everyone had a great summer and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday to be Wildcat Strong!

Additionally, attached are welcome back letters form each principal with information about open house and enrollment, Free & Reduced Price School Meals, Mo HealthNet Data Collection Form, and the approved 2021-2022 school calendar. The scanned document is attached below.

Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan (SRCSP)

The purpose of this document is to provide information to the community in preparing for and conducting an effective and successful re-entry into education services for the 2021-2022 school year programming in the Diamond R-IV School District. Because experts are continuing to learn more about COVID-19 and the conditions surrounding the crisis are continually evolving, this document will likely change, be amended or added to. Diamond Schools has worked in coordination with local authorities and health officials for review and approval of this plan. Diamond Schools will adhere to the most recent recommendations from the Newton County Health Department. Each school will be updating their individual plans as needed and communicating with our students and families any needed changes.

District All-Staff Welcome Back Kick-off

All of our staff and teachers returned this week! Monday and Tuesday we held new staff and teacher trainings and yesterday morning we hosted our district all-staff welcome back kick-off meetings in the high school commons and continued our staff professional/building trainings today. Lynette and our wonderful Opaa! ladies fed us a wonderful breakfast the past two days and yesterday provided a great taco bar for lunch with homemade deserts provided by members of the Diamond Christian Church. Today the Diamond First Baptist Church hosted and provided an incredible welcome back lunch for all of our Wildcat staff members. We have had an incredible week of professional development and team building with all of our Diamond R-IV staff to prepare for our students to return on Monday August 23rd!

Open House Was a Great Success!

Tonight we hosted Open House in each of our schools with a great turnout of students and parents. Thank you to all of the many community organizations who hosted booths and provided needed back to school items for our students!

Wildcat Spotlights!

The Summer has been busy and successful for many of our Diamond R-IV activities and especially our FFA students and sponsors. Below are pictures of some of the highlights for our FFA. Tomorrow night our Wildcat Football team will host their jamboree scrimmage with Marionville and Miller starting at 7:00 pm. Please keep supporting our Wildcats as we continue to have high hopes this fall for a great results for our activities and school organizations to be Wildcat Strong!.

Diamond Students And Families Go To Washington D.C.

The group that went was part of what is called World Classrooms, an organization helping Middle and High Schools provide summer trips to Washington D.C. The students that raised money or family support to attend were Silas Carrick, Wyatt Housh, Jordan Frick, Kaden Mein, Bailey Drake, and Macy Thomlin). The trip was to provide the students (and parents) a one-of-a-kind, personalized tour of DC and its history. The group was provided a charter bus, personal tour guides, and up-close access to several memorials and monuments. The students enjoyed it tremendously, and we are proud of their behavior and interactions with everyone around them throughout the trip.

Donated Water Bottles

We have had several local organizations and individuals reach out to us to see what they can do to help us prepare for the school year including the members of First Baptist Church of Diamond who have donated 1,000 water bottles for all our students and staff.

District Project Updates

The front of our School District property along Highway 59 has been cleaned up and a digital district sign has been installed. Our custodian and maintenance crews have worked hard to clean, paint, update, and wax/polish all of our buildings to prepare for our students and staff to return. We have also completely overhauled the old gym at the elementary to bring it back to some of its historic glory. Progress as promised!
