Lonoke Students Receive Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy
A HUGE congratulations to Jesus Ramirez, Juan Lara, Amy Amaro, Karla Lopez, & Jennifer Rosales for receiving the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy! They are the first LHS students to earn qualifying scores on the Stamp4S test. The test proves their language proficiency in both English and Spanish. Now, when they graduate from LHS, their diplomas will have an extra seal! This is a great achievement... so if you see them around, be sure to congratulate them!

LHS Art Students Recreate K-2nd Monster Art
Monster Art is always a fan favorite! Mrs. Maund and Mrs. Nation are making this a tradition for our district. Lonoke Primary School students are asked to draw monsters from their own imaginations. Then, those drawings are delivered to Mrs. Maund's art classes at the High School. LHS Art students then recreate the monsters, adding a little extra flair!
Every single recreation is amazing! Now you can see all the monsters and the students who drew them on our SmugMug page: https://lpsd.smugmug.com/MonsterArt/23MonsterArt/
Arkansas Author's Books in LPSD Libraries
Arkansas author Phyllis Hodges has been on tour, presenting her books to schools across the state. Her books "Girl Power" and "8 Years of Unforgettable History" can now be found in our libraries. "Girl Power" is a motivational, self-help book written in both English and Spanish. "8 Years of Unforgettable History" is a book of firsts - including Arkansans who parallel the works of President Barack Obama.
