Pratt's Primary Corner
Weekly Update- September 20, 2019
For October Number Corner we need many 1 liter bottles. If you have any empty ones, please consider sending them in!
Week at a Glance
Math- We are almost finished with unit 1. Next week we will focus on two digit addition and subtraction, including story problems. As your child works on problems at home, please keep in mind that students do not have to regroup (borrow and carry), they just need to be able to use a strategy that works for them and makes sense. We will take our test over unit 1 late next week.
Writing- I am blown away by the writing of these 3rd graders. We are working hard to elaborate on our writing, sound like experts, and improve our craft. This week we worked on adding transition words and bringing our writing to life.
Science/Social Studies- September 17th was Constitution Day. We had a great discussion about laws and the government. On Friday, officer Kelly came in to discuss the need for laws and their enforcement. We also started our E4Tech unit!
