Concept for a New C.M.S. Building
An alternate "concept" for a new CMS building was presented at last Tuesday's Board of Education Meeting. The presentation included a plan to renovate the current Columbus building for a new South Norwalk PK-5 neighborhood school and build the new CMS building on the grounds directly behind the renovated building. Click the link below to view the plan.
Mr. Thomas has met with Dr. Estrella and Board of Education members and is currently gathering more information to share with parents. In a few weeks Mr. Thomas will be hosting a ZOOM meeting allowing CMS parents an opportunity share comments and ask questions.

"First Grade Fresh to Your Door" Market
Yes, there will be a First Grade Market this year! Did you think a pandemic would stop them? To safely purchase produce this year, you will place an order in advance and it will be delivered fresh to your door! Look for more information and order forms coming home soon.
Filling in the Blanks
Our school has partnered with Filling in the Blanks, a local organization that is currently working with 60 schools throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Their mission is to get weekend food directly into the hands of children that need extra food in their household. Anyone who is interested in participating in this program can reach out directly to CMS Social Worker Elisa Campisi at 203-899-2840 ext. 24112 or campisie@norwalkps.org.
CMS Spring Celebration
Our Spring Sharing Celebration is Friday, June 4th. Students wishing to participate must submit their videos to Ms. Murray at murrayl@norwalkps.org by Monday, May 26th. Please contact Ms. Murray with questions.
Black History Sculptures
During Black History Month, our 6th grade young artists studied the sculptures of Augusta Savage. Augusta Savage taught artists such as Jacob Lawrence and is known for her bronze portraits of Black History. Ms. Peri encouraged students to research an important historic or contemporary figure in Black History who they admire and sculpt a clay portrait of them. They will be presenting their sculptures in the school hallways with a short written description of their portraits.
