Evening Street Weekly Update

May 20, 2022

Principal's Message

What a perfect way to end a COVID whiplash year, with a lightning and thunderstorm the morning of Super Games! In a year filled with resilience building, Mr. Brinegar, staff, and parents rallied together to make certain this was still the best day ever for our children. Catch a glimpse of the day in the video included in this newsletter.

Next week, our kindergarten students will perform for their parents, our fifth grade students graduate from Evening Street and we will mark the end of the year with the Clap Out at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25th, the last day of school. ALL are invited to clap out Mrs. Given, Mr. Tom Rohrbacher, and the Fifth Grade graduates. A map for Clap Out is included in this newsletter.

The last day that breakfast and lunch will be served this school year at Evening Street is Tuesday May 24th. Tuesday's final lunch will be Cheese Pizza or Sunbutter and Jelly.

If you are someone who likes to plan ahead for the next school year, here are important dates:

  • August 11th class lists sent home via email.
  • August 15th Open house 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

All the best,

Mary Rykowski

Principal

WORTHINGTON SUMMER PROGRAMS

The deadline to register for Summer Programs is May 27th.

TIME FOR SUNSCREEN

As we end the month of May, hotter weather is upon us. Your child would apply the sunscreen and should be sure not to share it with other children as to avoid allergy concerns

We do need parents to send in a note. The note can say something to the effect of:

"Please allow XXX to apply sunscreen at school as needed prior to recess and outdoor time".
