Principal's Message

Good Evening Robinson Families,

I hope it was a great weekend for all! Below are several updates:

Red Ribbon is here and I thank you ahead of time for your efforts to engage our students to commit to a drug-free life.

This is our final week for students to complete the iReady diagnostic test. Parents, please make sure you hold conversations with our students to ensure they are trying their best.

A reminder that Income Verification Forms are due back this week. Our school funding is directly tied to the percentage of forms we get back. Your assistance is greatly appreciated with this request. Please call our school if you need additional information on how you can help with this need.

I will be holding my Principal Community Zoom meeting this Monday at 4:00pm. Below are some of the topics that I will be addressing:

- iReady Diagnostic

- Parent Conference Week

- SEL / Mental Health Services Support

- Bus expectations

- Inappropriate items being brought to school / School Vandalism Awareness

- Lost and Found - Excess jackets and sweaters

Tomorrow we are scheduled to get rain for the first time. Please make sure you arrive to school ahead of time and send students with umbrellas.

Thank you for all of your support during this unprecedented time, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Salvador Madrigal

Atentamente,

Salvador Madrigal

October is Filipino American History Month

Filipino American History Month (FAHM) is celebrated in the United States during the month of October. Filipino Americans are the second-largest Asian American group in the nation and the third-largest ethnic group in California, after Latinas/os and African Americans. October was chosen to celebrate the month to commemorate the arrival of the first Filipinos who landed in what is now Morro Bay, California on October 18, 1587. It is also the birth month of Filipino American labor leader Larry Itliong. In 1991, Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) board of trustees proposed the first annual Filipino American History Month to commence in October 1992.

October is LGBTQ+ History Month!

LGBTQ+ History Month is a month-long celebration that occurs in October to observe lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer history. It also honors the history of gay rights. LGBTQ History Month was founded by Missouri high-school teacher Rodney Wilson and first celebrated in the United States in 1994, centering National Coming Out Day, which occurs annually on October 11th. It was first known as Lesbian and Gay History Month, the coordinating committee added bisexual to the title and later transgender. Gay and Lesbian Pride Month is also celebrated in June.
