A Message from Principal Norris-Buck
Dear Rodger Quist Families,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As we prepare for the next few weeks of remote learning, I want to share what you can expect.
Building Access: There is no building access during this time, however our front office will be manned from 8:00am - 4:30pm Tuesdays - Fridays. Please call the front desk if you have any questions or need anything.
Class Schedules: All class schedules will stay the same and attendance will be taken. If your child attended in person, they will still follow their schedule and attend their classes using their teacher’s links. Your child’s Pathways teacher sent you the links, perhaps through IC, and has the same information posted in their Pathways Google Classroom. Our 2nd quarter ends on Dec. 18th, so attendance and evidence of work is important.
Breakfast and Lunch: Breakfast and lunch can be ordered using this link. Please see more information on this free service for all children ages 1 -18 below. Included each week are six breakfast and lunch meals per student.
Chromebook Help: Chromebook help will be available for families and students at the sites and times listed in this slide. While there are different sites and times available, all 27J families are able to go to any site on the day that is convenient for them. In addition, here are a few ways to troubleshoot any Chromebook issues that may arise. Finally, if you need to submit a helpdesk ticket, please email helpdesk@sd27j.net to do so.
Connection: We know that our students may have questions about their work and need connection with each other during this time. Since our staff won’t be doing their regularly scheduled lunch duties, students can access a variety of staff for this purpose. This information about who, times, days and how will be in their Pathways Google Classroom. One of those resources is our Virtual Calm Room. Our lead counselor, Ms. Muniz, created this. It is good for adults too!

National Junior Honor's Society
Quist National Junior Honor is seeking new members for January Induction for the 2020-2021 school year. If you are interested in more information or to apply use this link. The application process is a selective process to ensure members meet the required standards in five pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. Application Deadline is December 1st.
Parent Survey
Thank you to all who shared your feedback with us through the Parent Survey. Here are the results if you would like to look at them yourself. We take this feedback seriously and will use it to help us continue to grow and get better as a school. Our highest areas of celebration are safety, communication and a welcoming environment. Our lowest area is parents feeling like an important part of their child’s learning. In this current environment it is challenging to find ways to involve families in a meaningful way. If you have ideas of how I can make this better, I am interested in hearing from you!
Student Fees
Applicable student fees have been applied to all student accounts. Please log into Infinite Campus to check the information specific to your student’s account. To pay fees, please click on the icon to the left. If you have never created an account, you will need to do so before a payment can be made.

Superintendent Policy - Student Attendance
We have had an increase in students leaving early from remote classes. It is very important that students stay for the entire class just as they would if they were in class at the school. Below is the district attendance policy regarding tardies, early departures, and partial absences. If a student needs to leave a remote class early for an appointment etc., a parent/guardian will need to call the front office at 303-655-6950.
Tardies, Early Departures and Partial Absences
6.1 Leaving class without permission will result in a partial absence being recorded.
6.2 Tardies, early departures and partial absences will be determined to be excused or unexcused based on the same criteria as all other absences.
6.3 Tardy is defined as a student’s arrival within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time for the class.
6.4 Early departure is defined as a student’s departure from class within the last 10 minutes of the class.
6.5 Partial absence is defined as a student arriving 10 or more minutes late to class, or leaving 10 or more minutes before the end of class.
