Looking Back
- PTA Breakfast Cart: What a way to start the day!
- Terrific Book Fair- Thank you Sara for playing such an active role.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Thank you teachers for your time and dedication: feedback was most positive.
- Kids had fun at the Fathers Club Pumpkin Carving.
Looking Ahead
- Wrapping up Goals Meetings: Super work happening. Please sign off on them after receiving my email to do so.
- Tuesday is our next Opportunity to Lead and Learn: more info below- 8:00 AM.
- K Halloween Parade, Tues at 2:00 PM out back. Come watch our little ones strut their stuff: plus we need a barrier to keep them in ;0)
- Halloween Parties:
- Try to stagger them to help with parking and security.
- Give Joe & Mike a list of who you are expecting in advance, they can then have name tags waiting to save time.
- Make sure guests know to park at Caraluzzis.
- With dismissal being so crazy: try to end things by 3:00/3:15 PM.
Dismissal Time Changes
We, therefore, will be moving our times back. For the next few days, we will need students in bus lines ready to start loading by 3:35 PM (to start). We will email out the times for preparation, walkers/pick-ups, and bus lines as we figure it out.
As we learn the new times, we will tweak our process as needed. Thank you ALL for your patience, support and professionalism during this....uh...."troubled?" process. I do believe that we are moving in the right direction. More to come.......
Important Reminders / General Info
Monthy Staff Breakfasts are Back!
The Safe School Climate Committee is bringing back monthly staff breakfasts! The breakfast will be set up in the faculty room by 8:15 AM on the first Friday of every month for anyone who would like to partake. Come to chat, take a treat to go, or stop in throughout the day for a treat (as long as they last)! We hope that this will be a fun way to celebrate the start of a new month. If you wish to contribute one month, click here to sign-up. Paper products and coffee will always be provided, so only breakfast treats are needed.
- Kim Laiso will be continuing Mindfulness Mondays during announcements.
- I am out of the building Wednesday until Noon(ish)- Ms. Jenna has the wheel!
- The PTA Monster Mash is Monday, 11/6 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Edmond Town Hall. Thank you to those that contributed Auction Items. It has been a tough go with the Gala not working out and then throwing this together. I know we work Tuesday and this was last minute: if anyone is able to pop in for any length of time, I am sure the PTA would greatly appreciate it. I completely understand if it is not possible.
Opportunities to Lead & Learn
We will have the next Opportunities to Lead & Learn on Tuesday, 10/31. Offerings for this session can be found by clicking here.
Reminders:
- If no one comes or low turnout, the presenter can decide to have or everyone simply goes to another offering (have 2 locations in mind)
- Continue to put Post Its on the Opportunities to Lead & Learn board outside Jenna's office for topics you wish to learn more about AND/OR topics you are willing to lead a conversation. Especially for the morning of 11/7 (our edcamp-style OLL)
November Meetings (Chris' Meetings) Reminder
- November 7 is a Full Day PD Day for certified staff.
- PowerTeacherPro has added so many of the features that we wanted to make Progress Reports easier, I can not wait to show you- the morning of November 7.
- Allison Zmuda is conducting AM sessions on 11/7, new staff is welcome to attend, for most of us it is a repeat, so we get to do an edcamp, or as I call it: Opportunities to Lead & Learn.
- With the "faculty meeting" discussing Progress Reports along with the "Opportunity to Lead & Learn" both happening on 11/7, I feel our quota for the month has been met. After 11/7 NO OTHER Faculty Meetings, Principal's Advisory, or Leadership Meetings are needed in November (unless you all feel strongly otherwise).
Technology Reminders/Help Needed!
- Computer Labs are to be locked when empty
Chromebook and iPad Carts should be locked when not in use. When you push in the lever, the cart is not locked. You need to use the key to lock it or number code.
The Chromebook Carts can only be opened or locked with a key. There are keys for all of the carts. Please leave the key in the designated spot for others. We are missing the 3rd grade key that was in the reading room (M207)- not easily replaced!
If you send students for a few devices, make sure no one else is using it shortly and follow up to make sure they were removed and replaced properly.
The carts have been badly treated. Wires everywhere, devices in the wrong location and sometimes wrong cart, devices not plugged in to charge, etc. Interactive modeling is needed to show students how to take out a device and, more importantly, how to return them- and again....Follow-Up!
Thank you to everyone for your attention to this matter as it affects us all.
