5th Grade MOSAIC

Now that I look back, I don't know why I was so stressed about it all this time. Funny how sometimes you worry a lot about something and it turns out to be nothing. ― R.J. Palacio, Wonder

Discovery Quest

All DQ information can be found inside of the Discovery Quest folder in Schoology in our class course: 5th Grade MOSAIC.

Once a quarter, you will be responsible for presenting your Discovery Quest topic to the class. You will be assigned a date to present and you may only change your date due to extenuating circumstances(family vacation, illness, etc.)

Discovery Quests are meant to improve your speaking and listening skills. Presentations are great practice for the real world. You will work on public speaking, eye contact, voice, preparedness of your topic, enhancing your digital presentations, critical thinking, and communication skills. The topics will be open ended for voice and choice. Discovery Quests need to be presented orally, but have a digital component as well. They need to be between 2-5 minutes in length. Be sure to practice at home before presenting in class. Practice will help you!!! If you have any questions, please email me or ask me about it in class.

Discovery Quest #1-Getting to Know You

Due 1st week of October

Choose a topic to present on that tells about yourself. You could talk about a hobby that you do, a subject that you enjoy, the history of your family name, your family tree, where you are from, family traditions, etc. Be creative and pick something that helps us learn about YOU!
