Your new Principal- Let me introduce myself...I am Mrs. Schwerin
My name is Christine Schwerin, and I am so honored to have been chosen to be the new principal for Linwood Elementary School starting this fall. I come to you with my Associate's Degree in Early Education from Ferris State University, and my Bachelor's Degree with endorsements in Special Education, and a Master's Degree in Education Administration, both from Saginaw Valley State University. Before taking on this role, I taught special education math at the Pinconning High School the past couple of years. Before coming to work in the Pinconning District, I worked at Carrollton School District for 15 years and had many different roles. I was a classroom teacher, college and career advisor, and prior to working in Pinconning I was the district data and assessment director. I have heard great things about Linwood Elementary and cannot wait to meet all the students and families. If you ever need to contact me please call the school office at 989.697.5711 or email at schwerinch@pasd.org
My Family and Hobbies:
I am married to my husband Stephen and we have three grown children. I have two sons Kegan (28) and Bailey (22) and our daughter Samantha (25) who was recently married in May, so now we have a son-in-law, Deven. As a family we enjoy spending time together outdoors, having cookouts and family dinners. I love working in my yard and flower beds and to travel. My favorite destination of all time is Cancun, Mexico. I also enjoy baking and dabble with crafting. I'm always willing to try and share new recipes. Summer Information and Covid Updates:
Our school buildings remain closed but a shout out to all of our building custodial staff who have been working diligently to ensure our schools are clean and ready for when we return to school. Governor Whitmer has released a "MI Safe School Return Roadmap" on June 30th. The district is making preparations to ensure parameters are met for the safety of all our students, families, teachers, and staff, and new guidelines will be in place for when we re-open. What those will look like is dependant on the MI Start phase we are categorized in. I have attached the school calendar and other important dates, but these may be changed as needed to meet the new essential actions and safety protocols.
