SUMMARY OF THE AUSTRALIAN GOLD RUSH
In February 1851, Edward Hargraves discovered gold in Australia around 40kms away from Bathurst. In just a week after discovery, 400 people were already looking and panning for gold. And by the time it was June, over 2000 people had come to look for GOLD! The GOLD RUSH was a very important place in Australian history. People from all over the world to strike it rich in AUSTRALIA!
MAIN EFFECTS OF THE GOLD RUSH
The main effects of the Australian Gold rush was more immigration, Cities were built, we became a richer country. People became richer too! Lots of people hit gold veins and some people became broke and never saw gold. People were robbed from there gold and lost all their money. More food was discovered, people started shops and started farms. They traded with the aboriginals and gave them jobs. They began unfair but eventually got more pay. Wars were started like the Eureka stockade and we even made friends with the Chinese. At first there was lots of racism but then it got better. Those the Main effects of the Australian gold rush!
