A Classic Tale of Power and Murder
The Downfall of Macbeth
As a result of Lady Macbeth’s actions, the one to blame for Macbeth’s horrific downfall is Lady Macbeth. Even though Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were husband and wife. Lady Macbeth was very toxic for Macbeth. In the book, Lady Macbeth hears about the thoughts of Macbeth wanting to kill the king so that he can become king. But Lady Macbeth fears that her husband is too good to murder anyone, “Yet do I fear thy nature. It is too full o’ the milk of human kindness To catch the nearest way. Thou wouldst be great; Art not without ambition, but without The illness should attend it”(Act 1, Scene 5). This quote shows that Lady Macbeth is starting to doubt her husband for the first time. But through time Lady Macbeth begins to think more and more about Macbeth ,and it's not good thinking. She starts calling him names,”Wouldst thou have that Which thou esteem’st the ornament of life, and live a coward in thine own esteem, letting I dare not wait upon I would, like the poor cat i’ the adage?(Act 1, Scene 7). This proves that Lady Macbeth starts to criticize her spouse about whether or not he’ll kill King Duncan. She also begins to start noticing that Macbeth is having mental issues by how he is seeing things ,and instead of saying something she tries to cover it up. “O proper stuff! This is the very painting of your fear. This is the air-drawn dagger which you said Led you to Duncan. O, these flaws and starts (impostors to true fear)”(Act 3, Scene 4). This quote shows that Lady Macbeth is more worried about herself than her husband and his health. If it wasn’t for Lady Macbeth, her husband could still be alive.
Lady Macbeth:"My hands are of your color, but I shame to wear a heart so white. [knock.] I hear a knocking at the south entry. Retire we to our chamber. A little water clears us of this deed. How easy is it then! Your constancy hath left you unattended"(Act 2, Scene 2).
Lady Macbeth knows she is just as guilty as Macbeth ,and she knows this by the blood on her hands. With a washing of the hands she thinks the horrible thing she did will just go away.
Crazy Train By: Ozzy Osbourne
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train"
This song "Crazy Train" resembles the character Lady Macbeth. It resembles Lady Macbeth by how she drives herself crazy just like what the lyrics say in the song. An example of Lady Macbeth being crazy is when she was sleeping walking, talking, and writing. While she was doing all those crazy things she was replaying the scene where she was trying to wash away her problems. All of the sleeping walking and the replaying caused Lady Macbeth to kill herself mentally.
