San Jacinto PTA Newsletter
October
Please check the calendar listed below for important dates coming up, and don't miss the dress up days listed below for Red Ribbon Week.
We would like to encourage all of our families to participate in the No Hassle Fundraiser. We do this fundraiser instead of selling trinkets or candy. Any donation is welcomed and you could win a NINTENDO SWITCH just for donating!
If you have not joined PTA for $7.00, we would love to have you join us. Your membership helps support PTA programs for the students and staff - plus you will receive updates and information about what is going on at San Jacinto.

No Hassle Fundraiser - we need you!
Every Family Can Participate
The No Hassle Fundraiser is the PTA's only fundraiser. 100% of funds earned benefit our SJ students, teachers, and staff!
It’s simple, it’s convenient and there are no door-to-door sales!
Families are asked to just make a donation!
For $10 or more your student will be entered for a drawing for a brand new Nintendo Switch!
Download the form at the link below and have your student drop it by the office. The last day to turn it in is October 13 and the drawing will be held that afternoon.
Thank you for your support!

Grade and Classes you Teach: 7, Math, Pre-AP Math, GT Math
How long have you been teaching at SJ? This year is year one.
Where is your favorite place in the world and why? Growing up, I moved frequently and attended 11 grade schools before graduating. After working in four districts across three states in distant places like Alaska, I have learned that my favorite place in the world is with my family wherever we happen to be. They are my joy, my strength, and my reason for working. No matter where life takes us, as long as we are together I can be happy.
What is your favorite thing about being a teacher? My favorite thing about teaching is watching the students when they are enjoying math and math class. Math describes so many wonderful things in life and should be appreciated as a wonder itself, so I really try to inspire that appreciation in class. Math should be fun, not painful. So my favorite part about teaching is seeing students get excited about learning math and having fun with it.
Ms. Rodriquez
1. What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my two sons. Hiking, fishing, playing soccer or baseball.
2. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
I would take my boys hiking in New Mexico and find a cave to climb in.
3. Where is your favorite place in the world and why?
Used book stores. I like the smell of books and the thought they have been read and cared for before. ......And now there they sit, waiting for me.
4. Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job?
I would keep my job and buy so many glue sticks and bright, colored paper.
5. What would you most like to tell your 13 year old self?
Don't ever cut your own bangs. Seriously. Put the scissors down.
6. What are you passionate about?
Cultivating creativity through any way possible
7. What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
My favorite thing about teaching is my students. Every.Single.One.of.Them.
