GWAEA Digital Learning Update
to ensure success for all learners - January 2016
Time spent per year teaching about using social networks for learning
Why This Matters
When used for the purpose of communicating about school-related matters, social media can be a valuable and effective tool for connecting with students and parents (University of Phoenix, 2014).
Educators can model how to be good digital citizens and how to use the tools for our own learning! You may be teaching it without even know it. Take a look at some digital citizen resources and educators to follow to get started on our #digcit SMORE. Feel free to pass this along to other educators to help them get started.
Think, Make, Innovate: Rube Goldberg Challenge
Think, Make, Innovate is Grant Wood AEA Digital Learning Team's makerspace challenge show. This challenge asks students to take a simple task and make it crazy and fun by creating a Rube Goldberg Machine.
We would love to see what you make! Join our Maker Community (http://www.dlgwaea.org/maker-communit...) by sending us photos or videos of your Rube Goldberg Machines to makerspace@gwaea.org or share links with us using this form (http://goo.gl/forms/FQiHbDNZXS) and we will post them on our website, www.dlgwaea.org.
