Park Glen Community,
What a year! Great work all around "Cheetah Nation"!
I want to send a huge thank you to you all for participating, supporting, communicating, and partnering with Park Glen to help our students grow. Park Glen is truly a special place and it is special, in part, because of the support of our community. This year has had its challenges and ups and downs to be sure, but you all made it!
I wish you all an amazing summer full of rest, family time, adventure, reading, and relaxation! Be safe and take care of those around you. Thank you again parents and community for all the support this school year, we couldn't do it without you.
Below are a few news items for summer:
Summer Intervention
If your student was not successful on this year's STAAR exam, they are required to attend 30 hours of additional tutoring as a requirement of Texas House Bill 4545. You should have received a phone call and letter informing you about the Summer Intervention dates to attend. If you have any questions, please contact the front office. The Texas Assessment Portal will have scores available for parents to look up starting in June.
Math DREAMBOX
This summer we want your child to continue building their math success and confidence by engaging with our DreamBox program online. Please see the attached flyer (below) for great information on how to support your child with DreamBox learning and to set up your free Family Dashboard at home.
As your child completes 5-8 lessons (an average of 30 minutes total each week) on DreamBox, the adaptive engine will help close existing learning gaps and promote growth with math concepts and skills. Your child completing these lessons independently each week will set them up for success in the math classroom next year.
Thank you for partnering with our school and DreamBox at home during the summer. Please read over the attached flyer and let me know if you have any questions.
Summer Reading
Reading is so much fun! I can't wait to have a bit more time this summer to go on a reading adventure. I'm currently reading the DUNE series.. its crazy! If you and your child would invest time to read together this break, not only will it be fun, it will strengthen your child's foundation of literacy skills which are so important to academic success. Check out the flyer and link below to summer reading opportunities!
Have a great summer break everyone!
Be well.
