Celebrations
The HHASD Board is recognizing community partners that help to make sure the students and staff are safe. The board wanted to recognize Dan Goetz, Debbie Martin, and Rick Goetz for being a community partner and helping RMS to accomplish their reunification drill at Pioneer Bowl. Board members presented Dan Goetz and Debbie Martin with a certificate of recognition. Dan Goetz commented that he, his family, and their places of business would do whatever they could for the Village of Richfield and that it is a wonderful place to live.
Spotlight on Learning: PBIS/CPS/eduClimber
Ms. Downs, Ms. Monacelli, Ms. Hartlmeier, and Ms. Leffler presented to the school board on Monday, January 24th, regarding the math journey of our district which includes our adoption of three new curriculums during the 2020/21 school year: 4K Bridges, K-5 Illustrative Math (IM), 6-8 Illustrative Math (IM).
The highlights of Bridges Math-4K include:
Well rounded with clear goals for each month
Variety of hands-on activities that meet student needs
Engaging themes each month that we can tie into other curricula
Biggest impact for students would be their growth in the understanding of numbers and in a variety of patterns
They are prepared with all the right skills needed for kindergarten
Some of the benefits of note include:
- Student confidence has increased in their approach to math.
- Much more hands-on and engaging.
- Kids are going deeper in their understanding of the concepts - they not only complete the work but can explain it to their peers.
- Better aligned to standards.
- Able to do “just in time”, ongoing assessment
- Seeing gaps closing for students receiving special ed support
- Seeing growth of FAST scores

From the Desk of the Director of Pupil Services: Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment for the 2022-2023 School Year
The Public school open enrollment program in Wisconsin allows parents to apply for their children to attend a public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside. The regular open enrollment application period for the 2022-23 school year begins on February 7, 2021, and ends at 4:00 pm on April 29, 2022. The best way to apply is online, the online application is available at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment during the application period.
The Holy Hill Area School District will review all Open Enrollment applications received during the application period and approve applications within grade levels that have approved open seat availability. These decisions are based on the Holy Hill Area School Board approved number of seats available as determined at the January 17, 2022 school board meeting for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

Germantown Community Library Seeks Community Feedback in Planning for the Future
(Germantown, Wisconsin) The Germantown Community Library is developing a new strategic plan to prepare for the next five years and is asking for community-wide participation. As part of the process we are evaluating current services offered such as materials, programs, partnerships, technology, quiet study spaces and community meeting rooms.
To help us gather information to plan our future, the library is conducting a community survey. Your input is vital to helping the library shape its services to meet the needs of all residents in the local area including Germantown, Richfield and Jackson.
The survey runs through Monday, February 7 and can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GermantownCLSurvey or on our website. Paper copies are also available at the library.
As a thank you for completing the survey, participants will be entered in a drawing to win one of ten $25 gift certificates to Amazon.
The library is also hosting three community conversations at the library on the following dates:
- Thursday, February 3, 6:00-7:30pm
- Friday, February 11, 11:30am-1:00pm
- Friday, February 11, 3:00-4:30pm
These conversations are a chance for residents to let us know the aspirations you have for the Germantown community, challenges it may be facing, and what you believe might make a difference in strengthening our community. Because we serve a wide variety of people, we hope to also have a variety of perspectives to inform these discussions, including those with different connections to the library.
