PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Each fall and spring, there are days scheduled for parent conferences on the school calendar (Oct. 13 & 14). At Werner we have built in more flexibility. You can expect to conference with your child’s teacher at least once during the first semester (so more time can be devoted to each conference) and again in the spring by phone or in person.
Communication is never limited to one or two meetings. Anytime a concern arises, or if there is information to be shared, please call for an appointment with the teacher, school counselor, or principal. Please do not expect to conference on a drop-in basis with your teacher. Teachers’ days operate on a very tight schedule. They will be better able to help you if they have time to gather information and sit down for a meaningful block of time.
VOLUNTEERING AT WERNER
Werner Wildcats,
We need you! Volunteer flyers to sign up to volunteer for your child’s class, PTA, Art and Library were given out during Back to School Night. If you couldn’t make it or didn’t get a flyer the links to the Volunteer Sign Up Genius sign up genius will be posted on the website, and the QR codes will be posted in each teacher’s window. General volunteering will be posted on the front door windows.
The PTA needs help with upcoming events, especially the Fall Fun Fest on September 23rd. Without volunteers we will have to cancel this and other events we have planned for the year. Please make sure to check out the PTA sign up genius to help with this and other fun events throughout the year.
For those who volunteered as room parent or room coordinator look out for an invitation to a room parent/room coordinator volunteer meeting that will be scheduled soon. During this meeting we will go over expectations for your role, helpful tips, and share templates to help make your role easier.
To everyone who has already signed up to volunteer, THANK YOU! Your support makes our school better and is so appreciated!
Thanks,
Your Werner PTA

NEWS FROM PSD
Attend PSD Strategic Plan community engagement session for the Fossil Ridge feeder at Preston Middle School-Oct. 6
We invite our community to guide the development of Poudre School District’s Strategic Plan at a series of upcoming engagement sessions.
This plan will be our roadmap for the next several years and focuses on four priorities: literacy, graduating with options, mental health and belonging, and school safety. Our data show there are great things happening in PSD but that there are not yet great outcomes for all students. With a strategic plan to help guide us, we believe we can best support learning for all by better aligning practices across our school district.
You are invited to attend this session at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Preston Middle School, 4901 Corbett Drive in Fort Collins. There is no need to RSVP. More info and other available sessions >>
PSD Now Newsletter
One of many ways information is shared is through the PSD Now community newsletter, which features timely information about the latest happenings in the district. This is emailed to families and interested community members about every other Thursday.
