Field Flash
March 10, 2023
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to the many families who have already completed their school registration for next year! Doing this now allows us to plan for next year in the best way possible, in terms of developing class lists and teacher assignments.
Each year, we provide parents an opportunity to share information about their child(ren), how they learn best, and preferences about peers in their classroom. If you are interested in sharing information, please use this form. You are able to complete this form until April 7th. Thank you for your partnership!
A few reminders:
We know some students have Smart Watches or cell phones - please know students are not permitted to use these items during the day. Devices should be powered off or set to a "school time". If your child needs to contact you, they can use the phone in our office.
Please remember to use the sidewalks (rather than the staff parking lot) when walking to and from Field. We do have staff who are arriving or leaving during these times.
Please continue to remember that dogs are not allowed at arrival and dismissal.
If your child (or you) ride a bike or scooter to and from school, please walk the vehicle on the blacktop.
We look forward to seeing many of our parents on stage this coming weekend at the VShow performances - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

IAR schedule - Help your 3rd-5th grade child be ready
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Test, an assessment for all students in grades 3-8 in Illinois, will be administered in District 64 from March 13-March 24.
The best preparation for the IAR has been the quality instruction our teachers have provided this school year. However, there are things you can also do to promote your child’s success:
Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast before each day of testing.
Please note children should leave their smart watches and other electronic devices (other than chromebook) at home, if possible, as they are not permitted in the testing environment.
Provide your child with words of encouragement. While we don’t want our students to feel anxious about any assessment, we do want them to do their best.
The IAR is an online assessment and students will be using their Chromebooks to complete these tests. Please make sure your child brings his or her Chromebook to school each day, fully charged.
Below is our school’s schedule for test administration:
Monday, March 13: Math Test 1
Tuesday, March 14: ELA Test 1
Wednesday, March 15: Math Test 2
Thursday, March 16: ELA Test 2
Friday, March 17: Math Test 3
Monday, March 20: ELA Field Test 3
If you would like to learn more about the IAR tests, sample tests are available for your review. Thank you for your support in helping your child be prepared for upcoming testing. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher, Mrs. Donnelly, or Dr. Goodman.
