Positive Communication
What a busy week! This week has been full of purposeful activities:
- purposeful discussion with goal setting conferences and snapshot data talks in PLC
- purposeful planning with power planning in each grade level
- purposeful learning experiences with our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Thursday
Two way communication between families, our community, and school is necessary for the success of us all. Positive school communication benefits not only our school and district, but ultimately our students. The manner in which we communicate and interact with our parents and community affects the extent and quality of involvement in our students' learning. For students, advantages can include increased motivation for learning, improved behavior, regular attendance, and a positive attitude about CE in general. This week our students will hear the experience of many of our district and community leaders regarding career/college experiences during our Read In. We gladly welcome children's author Tomayia Colvin, Officer Rose, School Board Member Latricia Charlot, Congressman Gene Green, and our superintendent Mr. King Davis. Continue maintaining communication with our parents and community members on the positive things happening here at Carroll Elementary. We challenge you this week to make three positive student phone calls. Once you have finished these phone calls, please email Ms. Gonzalez and me to let us know you have finished and share your reflection regarding this activity. Please complete your phone calls by Friday, October 7th. We can't wait to hear about your experiences.
We're down six weeks of instruction. Have a great week!
