2/8 (Mon.) Classroom Lunar New Year Celebration

FIRST DAY of the lunar new year! Our class will be celebrating with fun-filled centers activities! Please sign up to volunteer and/or help with supplies if you're available! Thank you!

2/11 (Thurs.) Valentine's Day Card Exchange

Students will be exchanging Valentine's Day cards on 2/11. Students can choose to make their own V-Day cards, or they can also be purchased for $2-$4 at local stores (i.e. CVS, Target, Walmart). The ones sold at stores usually come in packs of 32-34 cards.

Here are some links to give you an idea of what is out there:

This is something fun for the students. The cards can be as simple or as elaborate as the student wishes; what counts most is the thought. :)

To facilitate the process for passing out the cards, please do NOT have your child write each student's name on the cards. The cards will be passed out without specifying which card is for whom. We have 22 students in the class.

Innovation Exposition (OPTIONAL)

Please visit https://sites.google.com/a/pusd.us/innovationexposition/ to learn about PUSD's Innovation Exposition!

If you would like your child to participate, please let me know and I will give you an informational packet. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Le, our coordinator and/or the website above.

Khan Academy (OPTIONAL)

As a supplemental resource, I will be assigning Math work from khanacademy.org. This is a wonderful resource for students who would like more practice with the concepts taught at school or would like more challenging Math work.

The website adapts the questions based on each child's level. The more questions students answer correctly, the harder the problems will get. The program will also make problems easier if students are struggling with correctly answering the problems.

Please see below on how to sign up. This information will also be posted on our class site under "Parent Resources".

  1. Sign up at khanacademy.org (or log in with their existing accounts)
  2. Visit khanacademy.org/coaches
  3. There, in the "Add a coach" field, enter the class code XEEF4D
