ATTENDANCE
Our School attendance target is 95%.
The attendance last half term, from 9th January to 10th February was 93%. We are delighted that 501 pupils had excellent attendance having missed less than one day of school.
So far this year Chelmer Students have missed a total of 46,357 hours of learning since 1st September. Every hour missed potentially creates a gap in a student's learning. If you would like support with your child's attendance, please contact attendance@chelmer.essex.sch.uk or their year group's Associate leader.
To help us keep your child safe it is important that we know if they are absent by 8am. Please contact the absence line 01245 440232 each day of absence.
WHOLE SCHOOL PRODUCTION - MATILDA
We are over-the-moon that so many students came along to the group auditions this week! The atmosphere was fantastic, everyone did so well, and we are excited to start rehearsals. The next thing we need to do is cast the lead roles! Auditions for principal characters are taking place on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th February at lunchtime in ED1. The audition songs have been put on Satchel One and scripts have been available to collect from the Eastman Office.
Monday: Matilda & Miss Honey
Tuesday: Trunchbull, Mr & Mrs Wormwood, Bruce & Lavender
Please see one of the Drama or Music teachers if you have any questions.
ART WORK OF THE WEEK
YEAR 9 TRIP TO HARRY POTTER STUDIOS - 21ST MARCH
CAREERS
On 8th March our Year 7,8 & 9 students will take part in NHS Day as part of National Careers Week.
The NHS is the largest employer in Europe and the world's largest employer of highly skilled professionals. 1.3 million people across the health service in England are devoting their working lives to caring for others. That is one in every 25 working age adults, three quarters of whom are women. What better way can we showcase the amazing NHS in its 75th Year than showing our students the careers available to them from, HR, Admin, Counselling, Financing, IT, Cyber Security, Catering, Therapists, Training, as well as the more familiar careers of Doctors, Surgeons and Nurses. The opportunities are endless.
If you work for the NHS and would like to be involved, we would love to hear from you. Please email the Careers Lead on ashea@chelmer.essex.sch.uk
Year 10 Work Experience
Thank you so much for all the work experience placements forms that I have received so far. It is great to see the diversity of all the different jobs that some of our students have managed to secure.
More details will follow with regards to sign-in PINs to log into the BEP database to choose a placement for those students that have not been able to find their own.
Placements will not go live before 14th April 2023

MATHS REVISION SESSIONS
Year 11, 12 and 13 Maths revision sessions after school EVERY Wednesday in N33 and N34 from 3:00 to 4:15, bring along anything you would like to work on and you will get extra support and help if you need it.
Casio FX 83GTX Scientific calculators are still available on Wisepay for £9.00. Bring your receipt to the maths office to collect.
MATHS PAST PAPER EXAM PACKS
In previous years past paper exam packs have proved very popular as a revision aid for many of our students. We will be issuing a pack to every student next week and using it in class and for homework tasks.
Due to the rising costs of paper and printing, we will be asking for a voluntary donation of up to £5 to cover some of these costs and so we can continue to supply this valuable resource. This can be accessed through your usual Wisepay log on for your child.
