We had an busy and exciting week at Golden High School. The highlight of each week for me is watching our students perform in the many different activities we offer at Golden High School. Student Council started off our week by organizing and arranging a safe place for the kids in our community to safely Trick or Treat. Our Student Council demonstrates true leadership and community service every day. On Thursday, I was able to enjoy Little Shop of Horrors, and our student's performance was amazing! I highly encourage everyone to watch a performance of Little Shop of Horrors on Friday or Saturday. Our playoff schedule for athletics this week was packed with games. Boys and Girls Cross Country concluded their season this passed Saturday at the State Meet. Both teams placed in the top 16th in State. Boy's Soccer wrapped up their season on Wednesday. Our Cross Country teams and Boys Soccer both had outstanding seasons and I congratulate them on their success. Volleyball had multiple games on Friday afternoon, and the student athletes grind and battle on each point. They always represent Golden with PRIDE. I am looking forward to the Football game on Friday. I love attending our football games. Getting to support our football team, cheer team, dance team and drum line all in one event is an exciting way to spend an evening. They all do an amazing job each time they perform. Our students amaze me each day. Actually just walking through our hallways and in our classrooms is a highlight each week. Our students and teachers our great!

I hope the new newsletter format is better for everyone, and we will continue to make improvements each week.

Tackling Tough Topics with Teens (T4)

All Parents, guardians, teachers, or anyone with youth in their lives are invited to attend Tackling Tough Topics with Teens (T4)”, a FREE interactive workshop offered by Jefferson County Public Health about effectively communicating with teens to help build trust and reduce risks associated with substance use and mental health.

“Screenagers Under The Influence”

Coming November 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the GHS Auditorium. Tickets are FREE and available here.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is an adaptive assessment that measures aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. Golden High School students in grades 10-12 may register to take the exam for no fee. The exam will be administered on November 9th at 3:30 p.m. in the library. Students may register themselves. Use this form to register for the exam. The deadline to register is November 6th.

School Accountability Committee

The School Accountability Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 7th will change to November 14th. We did not want to interfere with the elections on November 7th. We will meet at 4:30 p.m. at GHS. Please note the time change to hopefully accommodate more parents’ schedules. If you would like to join us that evening, please enter the front of the school and we will direct you to the location of the meeting.
