SHISD Mid-Week Message
Weekly Superintendent's Message for Spring Hill ISD
Happy Thanksgiving!
As this is my next to last Mid-Week, I just want to say how thankful and grateful my family and I are for the opportunity I was given four years ago to serve the staff and students of Spring Hill. These last four years have been some of the most rewarding years of my career. There is so much to be thankful for in this community. The one thing that I am most thankful for is the support given to us by the board members, the staff, and the families of SHISD.
An attribute of a great school district includes a culture where the employees are happy to come to work because they know they are cared for, have an important role, and will be missed if they are gone. Spring Hill has that culture and you can see it every day and it has been my pleasure to lead this district for the last four years. This is a very hard place to leave.
With a heart full of gratitude, I wish each and everyone of you a wonderful Thanksgiving! - Steve Snell, Superintendent

Kudos:
- I received the following email complimenting our high school band while they were at the UIL State Marching contest. I just wanted to send an email To let you know i was recently staying at a hotel in San Antonio. I saw 3 tour busses filled with teenagers pull up and I went in to complete panic mode. Completely unnecessary! I never heard anything. And in the morning on the 2nd day I ran into quite a few of these kids. They were so well mannered, respectful and polite. I should not be surprised, but I have teenage children and I know what they are like. So I wanted to reach out to tell you you should be very proud of this group of individuals. They represent very well. Thank you ~ Jennifer Thibeault
I want to give a HUGE shout out to the HS band directors. Mr. Kiser, Mr. Pipak, Mr. Godfrey, and Ms. Kylberg are absolutely AMAZING! As a parent, I was able to witness their incredible leadership on the State band trip. The Blue Brigade did an outstanding job at State and we are beyond proud of them!!!
Mr. Kiser is truly one of the finest examples of what a teacher should be. He is such a strong role model for our kids and the other directors. We are extremely fortunate to have his leadership at Spring Hill.
Words cannot express how much I appreciate ALL that he does for our band!
With sincere gratitude ~ Deanna Turner

Charlotte and George Hay are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac" revised, one nostril version" and Noel Coward's Private Lives, when they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee.
In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me a Tenor, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.
