Maslow Stuff before Blooms Stuff
Below is an interesting article with reminders of what we must take care of first before we can even get to Blooms. As we approach this last stretch of the school year, I hope that each of us keep these things in mind as we work with the children entrusted in our care. The article below just scratches the surface and there are many more articles on this topic that you and your PLC can explore.
SAFETY UPDATES-PLease respond if you have not already!
Please send Mrs. Thompson a list of volunteers that volunteer in your classroom on a regular basis. Thanks in advance for sending the list by Tuesday March 6th. Also as a reminder when volunteers are working in classroom they should be doing this at a time when you are present. If this is not happening, please make adjustments.
Please take time this week before break to review lockdown procedures with your students. Many classes have added new students and it is important that they all are up to speed on procedures.
The Art of Questioning
Word Wall Refocus
Recently our admin team started discussing word walls and how meaningful they can be if truly used. Just after this conversation, we conducted our instructional walks with Dr. Ramirez and we identified several wonderings about word walls in our building:
- I wonder how teachers use the word wall as an instructional tool?
- I wonder how students use the word wall to improve their reading and writing?
- I wonder how often words are added to the word wall?
- I wonder how words are selected to earn a spot on the word wall?
Below you will find a quick read and maybe some ideas on using your word walls. Each week, I will send you a quick tidbit on word walls and my challenge to you is to truly make your word wall meaningful! As admin comes into your room, we want to check our out your word wall, but most importantly, we want you to also share with us how your word wall is used.
