Hi Team 8!

Important information coming soon about 2020-2021 Enrollment!

Thank you for your patience and grace during this time of transition to e-learning. Your students are doing awesome! We wanted to share this newsletter with you and will try to keep it as up to date as possible. All of the information for each of your students classes can be found on Schoology. Parents and students should have Schoology access. If you are having trouble finding something or with your access please reach out to us!

Although learning is important, the MOST IMPORTANT thing right now is the health and wellbeing of our families. If you are in need of any assistance please reach out. If you or your students are feeling stressed or overwhelmed with lessons or technology issues we WANT TO HELP!

Free Meal Opportunities for Students ..


The following locations are available for grab and go lunches for children beginning March 30th (please note that Westwood Elementary has been added):

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Monday - Friday

  • Early Childhood Center – 1803 Elmdale Ave
  • H.D. Karns Building – 300 W 9th (Parking lot in back)
  • Grandview Elementary – 109 E Grandview (Grandview Plaza)
  • Milford Elementary – 402 12th St (Milford)
  • Seitz Elementary – 27500 Rifle Range Rd (Fort Riley)
  • Sheridan Elementary – 429 W Ash
  • Spring Valley Elementary – 1601 Hickory Ln
  • Washington Elementary – 1500 N Washington
  • Westwood Elementary – 1600 N Eisenhower

Meals are free for ALL children age 1-18. Children receive a lunch and a breakfast for the next day. Children must be present to receive the meals.

United Way of JC-GC also provides family meal kits which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Science (eLearning)

All Science eLearning material can be found on Schoology. Each week we will have lessons and assignments that the students will complete.

Each student will also have two Science live meetings where we will go over these lessons and assignments and give the students opportunities to clarify and as questions.

This week all students have to complete is our very final 80% assignment! Woooo hoooo! This assignment encourages students to get creative and have a lot of fun so I hope they take that opportunity!

For this week please complete the following in this order:

  1. Read Diary Excerpt #5
  2. Read Excerpt #6
  3. Complete Journal Writing #5 and submit to Week #4 Assignment

Week 5 Instructions {giving you an air High 5}

You have now advanced to Week 5. Congratulations on making it to this level. Please complete this week's assignments in the following order.

  1. Read Diary Excerpt #7
  2. Read Excerpt #8
  3. Choose to complete either Journal Writing # 7 or Journal Writing #8 and submit your assignment to Week #5 Assignment

Foundations Language Arts

Hello Parents & Students!

Students should have completed last week's final ISIP Assessment. If they have not, it is still available to complete. They will be receiving a completion grade for logging in and completing it. The ISIP Assessment is a monthly assessment that does take more than 1-class period to complete. For more information, go to my Schoology page. Please make sure that you are going into each week's folder and completing the required graded assignments.


This week is SPIRIT WEEK!!!! Each day has a theme, and they are as follows:

  1. MONDAY--> Crazy Hat Day: Wear your favorite, crazy or silly hat!
  2. TUESDAY--> Team Tuesday: Wear your favorite teams colors or gear!
  3. WEDNESDAY--> Wildcat Wednesday: Wear blue and white to represent the Wildcats!
  4. THURSDAY--> Peace and Love Thursday: Wear your Tie Dye or hippie attire.
  5. FRIDAY--> Don't Sweat the Small Stuff Friday: Wear your comfy sweats!

Good Morning Everyone!

Task #1 (MONDAY-TUESDAY) Today, you are going to be logging into Spelling & Vocabulary City to practice these skills. Complete the assigned tasks on the Schoology page.

Task #2 (WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY) Next you will complete ONE I-Station assignment for the week.

Task #3 (FRIDAY) Finally, you can respond in the discussion post for the week, then respond to two other classmates posts. Please respond with more than one-word responses.
