September 20th, 2018 #Work Hard, Poupard!

Dear Poupard Families,

Dear Poupard Families,

It has been a terrific start to the 18-19 school year. Our staff has been busy connecting with all of your learners and building relationships with them, modeling and reviewing school-wide expectations and creating a classroom community where students feel comfortable and a sense of belonging.

Special shout out to everyone that was able to attend our PTO Back to School BBQ on Saturday! It was awesome seeing our Poupard community come together to play, dance and enjoy a meal. At Poupard, we deeply value our families and rely on your participation and support. As I shared on Back to School Night, you are a huge member of our team! Research about student achievement and well-being at school shows us that the more involved a students family is at home and school, the more successful their child will be overall.

Please consider signing up as your learners classroom PTO Ambassador! The Poupard PTO is forming a group of parents who want to be more involved with their child’s classroom and serve as a spokesperson to make communication easier and address concerns fast and efficiently. The (PTO)– is looking for a representative from each classroom to serve as a PTO Classroom Ambassador.

PTO Classroom Ambassadors will:

  • Compile a contact list of the parents in your child’s class (preferably email & phone)

  • Communicate opinions or concerns (if any) from the teacher and/or classroom parents to the PTO

  • Attend monthly PTO meetings, second Tuesday of every month and distribute any relevant information to classroom parents.

It is essential that your class have representation and a seat at the table. Spots are filling up so please consider signing up! Please contact our PTO President Molly Sewell at 313-354-9390 for additional information.

Every Friday is a school spirit day where we all wear our Green Poupard t-shirts. Not to worry if your child doesn't have one yet, they will be receiving one soon!

It's been a pleasure meeting your learners and getting to know all of our new Poupard families. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 313-432-4804 or alih@gpschools.org.

Thanks for partnering with Poupard in your child's learning!
