Christmas Sonnet By: Tami Hetrick
Christmas brings an abundance of joy
It causes anticipation in children’s hearts
For each child is sure to get a new toy
Some children get so much they become tarts
Decorations color the deadness of winter’s season
Music rings in the ears of all the people
Life’s many attributes suddenly have reason
As everyone comes to worship under the steeple
Christmas causes people to give an extra care
They slow their lives to enjoy life’s abundant plan
The season makes people do things they normally wouldn’t dare
People reach out to help an extra helping hand to their fellow man
Traditions are handed down some are started anew
As silver, gold, red, and green show their wonderful hue.
