Sacramento PRAYS
Uniting people to pray in the Greater Sacramento Region.
PREPARE IN PRAYER BY DAN AXTELL
When should you pray? Most of us think about prayer when we are stressed, scared or sick. But is that really the best time to pray? People who understand prayer know you have to pray before the storm comes. If you wait until your moment of greatest need it may be too late. You will not be able to pray as you should or as well as you could.
Matthew 26:41 says, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” Jesus knew that the key to being ready for life was time spent in prayer.
His disciples needed to pray, not for their success or their happiness or to change the events that were about to overcome them. No, Jesus said they needed to pray so they would not fall into temptation. A good prayer life today will keep you on your feet tomorrow.
National Day of Prayer
The 10th annual Northern California National Day of Prayer Breakfast will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 7am at William Jessup University.
The theme this year, “Lord, Hear Our Cry” emphasizes the need for us, corporately and individually, to place our faith in the unfailing character of our Creator. To further highlight the theme, 1 Kings 8:28 has been chosen as the Scripture for this year: “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”
This consistently sold-out event features keynote speaker and New York Times best-selling author ofLove Does, Bob Goff so purchase tickets here.
If you are an intercessor or prayer leader, please join us at the capitol for this years National Day of Prayer 64th observance. This gathering will be very special as we pray fresh encounter style, with worship and praise.

Biblical Garden Retreat
Each year, City Gates Pray journeys to the Alta Sierra Biblical Gardens for a refreshing time of worship based prayer and quiet reflection. This will be the 7th year hosting these retreats and each year they are distinctly different and powerful. This time is used to re-fuel and prepare for the annual prayer-walk.
2015 retreats will be May 16th and Sept 12th.
If you are planning on attending either event please consider registering early, as these events fill up quickly.
Will You Become a Monthly Partner of SacramentoPRAYS?
Why do KLOVE/Air 1 and NPR all do “pledge drives” to convince listeners to give on a monthly basis? Because it works! Monthly donors are the absolute back bone of those radio stations and many other non-profits. It is amazing how MANY people doing SOMETHING produces a BIG result. Our “Fuel the Movement” campaign is about filling the tank for the years ahead through MANY people doing SOMETHING. We have seen such great progress in knitting together the prayer ministries in the region since the Sacramento Festival in 2012. We want this work to continue, but we need everyone to do SOMETHING. We need 100 monthly supporters to keep doing the work that is key for our catalytic regional gospel movement work to continue. You can participate by clicking here and following the very simple steps to set up a recurring monthly donation of any amounthttps://theactsgroup.webconnex.com/Give
If you want to learn much more about the good work that is happening in the region, you are invited to one of our six remaining Fuel the Movement meetings There will be a 40 minute presentation and time for Q&A on any subject related to the rising level of God’s activity throughout our Capital region. Dessert and coffee will be served. Just click on the register link below to let us know you are coming:
