Honoring Those Who Serve

Veterans Day is a special day to remember all of the people who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day and thank you to our faculty, families, and members of our Chartwell community who are or have served for your dedication and sacrifice.

Divisions will be honoring the holiday with special activities throughout the day.

Ms. King, middle school teacher, is collecting non-perishable items and toiletries to send her brother and his shipmates who are stationed on the USS Bush. You can drop off any items in carline tomorrow.

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day

On Monday, November 14, Chartwell will be recognizing the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. The day commemorates six-year-old Ruby Bridges who stepped into the history books in 1960 when she integrated into William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Chartwell will offer division-level activities to honor the day.

Nutrition and the Brain: What Our Children Eat Matters

Please remember to pack your child healthy and nutritional snacks and lunch food every day. Lisa Benjamin, occupational therapist, created a handout to help families when making food choices for their child's lunch.

Support Chartwell and Enjoy a Private Showing of Elf! Registration Needed by Dec 1

We are excited to share the first "count-me-in" opportunity. Through the generosity of a parent donor, families can enjoy a private showing of Elf with other members of the Chartwell community and support the school's fundraising efforts!

Here's how it works:

  • Families "purchase" a spot at the event for $30 per person
  • The contribution goes to Chartwell's Annual Fund which supports all aspects of the school's programs.
  • You and your family get to enjoy a private showing of Elf with other members of the Chartwell community

Wednesday, December 7

4:00 pm

Century Marina and XD (100 10th Street, Marina; next to Best Buy)

Elf

$30 per person - includes popcorn and a drink

This is not a school-organized event; all lower and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult.

Siblings are welcome to attend.

If your family would like to participate and is in need of financial support to attend, please email Katia Stornetta at kstornetta@chartwell.org.

Donors should consult with their tax advisers or the IRS to determine what portion of a contribution is deductible.
