Join the celebration!
Presented by Author Bob Withers with Dr. Robert Holzweiss, Deputy Director of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, this historical overview by these train historians is a fascinating trip back in time!
Join this celebration honoring Presidents and their trains!
This historical overview begins in 1833 with President Andrew Jackson, the first president to ride in a train. Highlighted will be the unique train stories of President Abraham Lincoln, President Warren Harding, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, President Harry S. Truman, First Lady Lady Bird Johnson’s “Special” train campaign for President Lyndon Johnson, President Dwight Eisenhower, and President George H.W. Bush. It shows trains continue to make a strong connection for people with their presidents.
