6th 6 weeks
From the Principal
Wow! I cannot believe we are entering the 6th 6 weeks of school. This has been such a great year. Much of that is due to the incredible amount of parent involvement we have had! Thank you SO much! This will be my last campus newsletter for this year. Thank you again for all you have done as parents!! Those of you that are moving on from us, we wish you all the best!
Please keep the following in mind as we enter the last 6 weeks:
1) Continue to be patient in our parking lot. There will be construction from now through the end of the year. Please do not move cones! There are some times of the day there are certain cones out and certain times they are moved. This is for a reason. Also, please make sure you hold your child's hand when you are walking in the parking lot! We have had some children running on their own. Cars cannot see our small kids! Please do not park in the fire lane and let people out to go pick up.
2) If you do have to pick up your child early (kindergarten), remember that we lock our doors at 2:45 and do not open again until 3:10. If you have an appt, you will need to pick them up before 2:45 or you will have to wait.
3) Please continue to show your pick up tag during pick up time!
4) Please make sure you are getting your child here on time! The tardy bell is 8:05.
Thank you for all you do!

OUTGOING KINDERGARTEN CAMPUS PLACEMENT SHEETS
Campus placement forms will go home on Tuesday, April 23rd. These are due back on Friday, April 26th. It is important that we get 100% turned in! As you know, 1st-3rd grade is split into 2 campuses, College Street and Velma Penny. Students are placed by a random selection process. If you have an older child that will be on either campus NEXT year, your child will automatically be placed at that same campus. If there is any other circumstance that you feel needs to taken into consideration, you can write it on the form.
JULY 30TH: Campus Placement will be on Skyward
August 9th @ 4pm: Teacher assignments will be posted to Skyward
Friday, May 24th, 9am
16314 Farm to Market Road 849
Field day will not be rescheduled if there is bad weather.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL/PARTY DAY
Thursday, May 30th, 9am
201 Stadium Drive
We hope you can attend your child's end of year party! Because of the size of our grade levels (150 pre-k/ 305 kindergartners), we do not do grade level graduations. Your child's teacher will make this event special. Kindergarten will have special diplomas that are given out by your child's teacher. This is a 2 hour early release. You may also sign your child out after their party, if you would like.
Additional parking options: As you know, our parking lot gets quite full! We will offer overflow parking at the stadium. There will be 2-3 small lindale school buses that will be shuttling people back and forth. It will run during party times! We are so appreciative of our transportation department for providing this!

Last Reading log of the year!
Add these books to your personal reading list! I know "reading time" is hard to come by for yourselves, but I highly recommend taking a few minutes a day to dig into these helpful resources!
Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child's heart into the paths of life.
Although this book is primarily written for adoptive and foster families, it is a great read for all parents!
This book offers practical and philosophical guide to solving the problems--large and small, mundane and extraordinary―that confront all families and strong communities
