Did You Notice?

YouTube Kids App Now on ACS iPads!

As students worked with iPads on Friday, they noticed a new app they didn't recognize. YouTube Kids! So, what exactly is this app? It is a brand new app that became available last week. Read the excerpt below from digitaltrends.com to learn more:

YouTube Kids is a family-friendly version of the video streaming site that offers kids appealing content and parents peace of mind. Large images, bold icons, and search functions give the littl’uns access to a ton of family-focused content, including from famous producers such as DreamWorksTV, Jim Henson TV, and National Geographic Kids. Original content made especially for YouTube Kids is also on the way, the company said on Monday.

Tech Management Tip

Task Cards for iPad Workflow...

Are you using a management system for iPad workflow in the classroom? What is working for using iPads in various ways (stations, individual practice, group projects, etc.) I'd love to hear about how things are working in your classroom in order to help others across the district!

Check out the iPad task cards idea shared below and let me know what you think! This teacher is using task cards as a way to manage independent learning stations and individual student work using iPads.

Cool Tech Tool of the Week

Popplet

http://popplet.com/

Popplet lite is an app that is installed on all ACS iPads! It is a great way for students to capture and organize ideas. Popplet will help students think and learn visually through the creation of mind maps. Students can capture facts, thoughts, and images and learn to create relationships between them.

Below is a sample Popplet:
