- He was born in Scranton/ PA on July 11,1943.
- His parents were refugees from Nazi Germany.
- As a child he was an avid reader and loved music, he later become a gifted pianist.
- As a young man be enrolled at Harvard University and found it an exhilarating place for learning.

- Howard Gardner is the John H. and Elisabeth A. Hobbs Professor of cognition and education at Harvard Graduate school of education. He's also a adjunct professor.
