To Ms. Saengkeo, and her her class for taking cover under the desk during the earthquake on Tuesday and waiting patiently until admin arrived to clear classroom.
PLC
(LCAP GOAL 5)
In our Art PLC meeting on Wednesday, we discussed the outcome of the Soledad Education Foundation's grants to help fund well needed art supplies! This year, my request included two traveling display stands so we can more easily display two dimensional artwork.
CM Training
(LCAP GOAL 5)
On October 15th, Cohort 2, teachers from SHS and MSMS, participated in their 4th day of Constructed Meaning (CM) training. They were able to work on strengthening and refining the skills that they learned in Days 1-3. They also learned about incorporating tools for Academic Writing into the CM Planning Process such as academic writing supports, how to create drafting templates, and how to use CM writing tools and templates in their everyday lessons. It's been very exciting to hear about all of the ways teachers have been incorporating the CM techniques into their classrooms, which are improving both speaking and writing for our students. If you have any questions about CM, please ask Ms. Adams, Dr. Kaplan, or Mrs. Armer; they would be more than happy to answer your CM questions.
Fleet Week
(LCAP GOAL 1)
Soledad High School NJROTC took 67 cadets to visit active duty naval ships. Cadets got a chance to match classroom content to actual hands on experience. They visited the USS Zumwalt DDG 1000 and the USS Princeton CG 126.
