Florence 1 Schools: March 18, 2020
Educational Services to Students in Florence 1 Schools Continue
Dr. Richard O'Malley (seated at table far right) met with school administrators this morning to review issues relating to delivery of instruction and other services to students, parents and the community during this time of school closure.
He indicated that school administrators are diligently working during this period even though students, teachers and staff are not physically located within the school facilities.
He called for school administrators to provide written plans for continued smooth operations of schools during these next two weeks.
Meal Delivery Updates
Please note the following additions or changes to the current bus meal locations.
Pick-up Locations Servicing the following areas:
Briggs Elementary - Blue Granite Community - previously at Lucy T. Davis
Timrod Elementary -American Best Value on TV Road, first hour of lunch; Colonial on Irby, last 45 minutes of lunch
Delmae Elementary - Cambridge Apartments (a newly added location)
Coit Street Apartments - (a newly added location)
Lester Elementary - Glendale Community changing to Cedar Terrace Country Squire
North Vista Elementary Boys and Girls Club - Dinner Only

Notes from County Government
Florence County Government offices will remain open and operational, continuing to provide essential services. However, in an effort to minimize the threat of spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19, beginning 12 noon, Thursday, March 19, public access to all county buildings, facilities and offices will be restricted and the restriction will continue until public health officials have determined the threat to the public posed by COVID-19 has passed.
Florence County Council is expected to declare a State of Emergency to take effect on Thursday, March 19.
