First Day of School

Believe it or not, our first day of school, Thursday, September 6th, is right around the corner. A special welcome to all of our new students attending SLHS for the first time. We want your child to have a successful year at Saranac Lake High School and believe you play a key role. We appreciate your involvement and support of our school.


What are the school hours?

Door #1 Opens: 7:00 AM

Homeroom Begins: 7:50 AM

9th Period Ends: 2:14 PM

Activity Period Ends & Buses Arrive: 2:45 PM

Building Renovation News

The staff & student parking lot will be used again as our main parking lot until the upper parking lot is finished. Students, families and visitors will use Door #1 to enter the building. As we begin the school year, the main offices, Library and the auto shop connector will be an active construction zone and therefore, closed off from students, staff, and visitors. The temporary main office will be in Room 113 and the temporary guidance office will be in room 111. The temporary Library Media Center will be in Room 403 (Large Group Instruction Room). Classes that were scheduled in the auto shop will be relocated to the wood shop or Room 403. We want to thank you for your flexibility and patience during this construction project.

Student Information Sheets

Student Information Sheets will be given to each student on the first day of school. All of these sheets need to be returned to the school by Monday, September 10th, whether changes are necessary or not. If this information changes during the school year, please contact us at 518-891-4450 or email Mrs. Diana Schwartz at schwartdia@slcs.org. Communications are sent out regularly using the numbers and e-mail addresses in our system, so please update them with us if there is a change. In addition, we can only communicate student information with parents/guardians who are listed with these privileges in our system. Thank you for taking the time to keep us updated when change occur.
