Week 6, Term 4 Newsletter
How your vision and your future are linked
Early on Wednesday morning we had the privilege of seeing the C Block ablution block being officially opened. Constructed by Pouwhenua Ltd, these changing rooms and toilets are the latest addition to our school and we are extremely grateful to the Abundant Life Church Proprietors for their provision. Yet, it had the potential not to happen . . .
Some of you will remember that prior to this new block being built, the we had semi-permanent toilets there - basically a portacom with male and female toilets that were supposed to be there as a short term measure. However, months became years and those ‘temporary’ toilets became our norm. Then along came Mrs. Lanice Waitai . . .
Lanice was instrumental in seeing the old toilet block removed and a new, modern, functional, hygienic and permanent block built. As the person in charge of property for the Proprietors at the time, she foresaw what could be, what was needed and got the wheels in motion. From there, the Proprietors have continued the mahi and we now have what we have - a purpose-built block for our youngest students.
There’s much to learn in all of this.
Don’t be content with the ‘norm’ - look for more, there is more with God.
Without a vision, very, very little happens.
Often our future is limited by our inability or unwillingness to see
Despite obstacles and interruptions that arise, trust God.
Partner with those of the same heart
Keep focused
So the questions must be asked:
What do you see for your family? What do you see for your spouse? What do you see for our town and community? What do you see for yourself? Look. See. Ask the King. Do.
On behalf of our school community, thank you to everyone involved with this new block. We are grateful. We are appreciative. We say thank you.
I also want to thank the staff and students for your patience whilst the construction and consenting process was underway. I appreciate your flexibility, resourcefulness and patience whanau.
This Tuesday we are having our Y11-13 senior prize giving. Looking forward to celebrating this time with the students and SEEING you all there!
