The 4th grade teachers at EMIS and MIS have created some re-teach videos of each skill that will be tested on our upcoming Math EOQ. Below, each video is linked with a practice game that will help your child be ready for the EOQ. Please encourage your child to use these links as an added study resource.

A note from Mrs. Izzo...
Can you relate text to something in your own life? Well if you can you have just made a text-to-self connection! Can you make connections of text-to-world? Or text-to-text? Or how about text-to-media? As a reader you can use what you know or your schema to make important connections as you read! We utilized the tall tale of John Henry to explore text-to-text, text-to-self, text-to-world, and text-to-media connections this week. We also learned how it is different to listen to a story than how it is to actually read it on your own. We enjoyed seeing the movie trailer of John Henry and we wanted to see more! When we took a picture walk use Epic Books we could visualize the story or tall tale of John Henry even more! We have started reading My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George to explore more connections to text and learn about the themes of survival. Thank you to Joshua Allen for letting us share his awesome text connections poster! We are growing our minds every day!
