Administrative Team Updates
As Traders Point Christian Schools has been blessed with so many new students and families we have also been blessed with great new faculty, staff and administrators. We will be updating you throughout the summer on new faculty and staff that will be joining us.
Earlier this spring we hired Ms. Angela Ruiz as our Acting K-4 Principal while Dr. Erica Buchanan-Rivera was on maternity leave. We are pleased to announce that Ms. Ruiz has been named the K-4 Principal for the upcoming school year. With 14 years in education, she brings a level of expertise and experience to our school that is truly impressive. Her focus will include providing a strong Christian environment that will be further enhanced through: character education initiatives, 21st Century skills, consistent implementation of explicit instructional strategies, and providing exciting and challenging standards-based learning opportunities. Ms. Ruiz’s desire includes fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders, helping each student find their purpose, and providing students with a solid spiritual and educational foundation for their best future. She shares, “My prayer is to offer an excellent educational program dedicated to respect and loving Christ fearlessly. A personal belief is that the educational experience is not just for students; it is a journey for the entire family.”
Dr. Buchanan-Rivera plans to rejoin the team after she returns from maternity leave and will continue sharing her advanced education and experience in her new role as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for both Traders Point Christian Academy and Traders Point Christian High School. Dr. Buchanan-Rivera recently completed her doctoral program at Indiana State University and specializes in culturally relevant pedagogy and identity-safe environments. Her doctoral work focused on inclusive environments with an emphasis on race and diversity. She designed an instrument to measure inclusivity in K-12 environments. This is her 10th year in education.
We are so pleased that the Lord continues to bring us incredibly talented and gifted leaders who love God, our students and their families.
Ms. Angela Ruiz

Scripture Writing Event at the New High School
Please join us for a special scripture writing event in the new high school this Sunday. Get a sneak peek of the building and leave behind a special blessing for the future students who will fill the halls and classrooms. As the students walk over floors that have been covered in prayer and marked with Bible verses, they will be building a foundation for a life grounded in Christ through their classes, chapels, teachers and fellow students.
We just received notification that the builders will begin installing carpeting this Monday. Although the timing isn't ideal for Mother's Day, it is our desire for you to have the opportunity to write scripture on the floors before the installation begins. Therefore, we have planned to open the building this Sunday, May 14th from 4:00 - 5:00.
We hope you will join us for this momentous occasion!

SCRIP- Shop to Earn Cash Back for Tuition!
With scrip fundraising, families can easily earn cash for tuition for their own children (80%) and for the school (20%) while they shop.
Scrip is simple. Order gift cards, e-cards, reloadable or printable certificates for many places at which you shop, dine and play already and a percentage of what you spend comes right back to you as a credit on your student account. Simply use scrip gift cards for everyday purchases, and earn a rebate on each one at no additional cost.
Scrip is easy. Families purchase online – no checks, no submitting order forms to the school -- and your cards/certificates are available either instantly for print, redemption on your Smartphone, or as reloadable gift cards. For more information, visit the Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com.
To sign up you will need our Traders Point enrollment code. However, we are unable to publicly publish our enrollment code for security reasons. Please email tpcascrip@gmail.com for this code and further directions.
We pray this will be a blessing to all of our Traders Point families!
