Fundraisers in September

* North Texas Giving Day -- 9/17/15 -- ALL DAY. Encourage friends, family, co-workers, past adopters, neighbors, your grocer -- really anyone you know, to donate a minimum of $25 to us on that date -- so we are eligible for MATCHING funds!

*Arrezios's -- 9/25/15 -- ALL DAY -- Earn 10% of Sales for any items sold that day. Encourage everyone to go to the restaurant that day, and help out the dogs!

*Go Fund Me -- Wrapping up now (Projected Earnings will be 10% less than current amount in the account. Presently in the account is: $

*Kroger -- Everyone should be able to sign up soon, for those interested in having their Kroger Community Rewards going towards CSR. Although, this LOOKS complicated -- it's not. AND if you need help, a techie can help you. Just ask. :)

Kroger Community Rewards – Customer Instructions

A Digital Account is needed in order to participate in Kroger Community Rewards. If you already have a Digital Account, then please skip to the section named ‘Selecting an Organization’.

How to Register a Digital Account

Creating a digital account is as simple as 1,2,3! Simply visit or download the Kroger mobile application from the appropriate app store for your device and follow these directions.

1. Select the ‘Register’ button.

2. Enter your information.

3. Select ‘Create Account’.

Please make sure that you add your card number or create a virtual card number while registering your Digital Account. This is required for the Community Rewards program so that your transactions apply towards the program.

Selecting an Organization

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple updating the Community Rewards selection on your Digital Account.

· Sign into your Digital Account (if you haven’t already).

· Select ‘My Account’.

· Scroll down to the ‘Community Rewards’ section of your account page.

· Select ‘Enroll Now’ or ‘Edit’.

· Enter the name or NPO number of the organization that you wish to support.

· Select the appropriate organization from the list and click on ‘Save’.

Your selected organization will now display in the Community Rewards section of your account page.

Any transactions moving forward using the card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program.

It takes approximately 10 days for the Community Rewards total to begin displaying on your receipt.

Viewing your Rewards Details

Wondering how much you’ve earned towards your selected organization? You may view the total earned during the last quarter by following these instructions.

· Sign into your Digital Account (if you haven’t already).

· Select ‘My Account’.

· Scroll down to the ‘Community Rewards’ section.

· The amount earned will be listed as ‘Last Quarter Kroger Donation’.

Additional Details

You must present your Kroger Plus Card or provide your Alternate ID at the register during the transaction in order for it to count towards the program.

Organization selections must be renewed once a year, during the month of August. Simply follow the instructions detailed in the ‘Selecting an Organization’ section in order to maintain or update your selected organization.

New Foster Training -- September 20 (Sunday) @ 2:30 PM

Come meet your fellow CSR fosters ... we have some new members (Welcome!) and this is a great refresher for those already in the group, as well as an intro to newbies. We will discuss the basics of CSR, as well as, some strategies that work well for rescue dogs/pups. Our foster training is scheduled for 9/20 @ 2:30 pm at the home of Paula Jackson McCoart, 819 Spring Creek Drive, Grapevine, TX 76051

Ready for a new foster?

CSR accepts some owner surrenders (as space in foster home permits and if the dog/pup is a good fit for CSR); and CSR generally prefers to "pull"/rescue dogs/pups from Grapevine or Grand Prairie Animal Shelter. These are two shelters where we have a great relationship with and as it is local, much easier to work with vs. long distance. We do make exceptions for taking dogs out of the area but it is much more challenging to assess medical/behavior issues/needs, when rescuing a dog/pup out of the area, as you are trusting another shelter or rescue to relay information accurately. Case in point -- pups rescued from Longview Shelter were not as healthy as portrayed to us. So, if you are ready to foster -- please look at the Grapevine or Grand Prairie web sites for dogs that need to be rescued, or alert Melinda and Loretta, who can begin looking for a suitable foster for you.

Vacation Plans don't include Fido?

If you are planning a vacation and they don't include your foster, please let us know well in advance -- so we can have a foster cover, if possible. As well, we would like the dog to be at adoption events -- so we would like to accommodate this, too!

Need a t-shirt? Free to all members. Just want a tee to wear around town? You can purchase an additional tee to sport around, to help support CSR and increase awareness, too. These are pretty cute! Marlaina has more designs coming soon. Prices and styles vary. Check them out at:

CSR is Moving on UP!

Pictured (above) is not our new CSR trailer but a sample of what we plan to have done (called wrapping) to our new trailer! This is a sample sent to us by a company. Dan and Debby are going to work on this for us. As you can see, this group had a sponsor and CSR is going to look for 2 sponsors, too. Looks like Park Place Animal Hospital may be interested in being one of our sponsors and we are hoping that Jenny Froh might be the other. If not, we will probably approach Woof Gang Bakery to see if they would like to sponsor us. We would love to have the wrap on our trailer completed prior to our ANNIVERSARY party!

SAVE the DATE! October 3rd -- CSR's 6th Anniversary Bash

We are going to be celebrating our 6th Anniversary at the adoption meet and mingle on October 3rd. So far, we plan to have an Ice Cream truck there (everyone will pay for their own treats), CSR will provide some water, bagged pretzels or other inexpensive treats for humans and have some canine treats for our canine soulmates. IF the weather is permissive, event will be outside. We can play some fun music, spritz the dogs with some fun pink washable spray for Breast Cancer Month/Halloween/and of course, our Anniversary Bash! We are sure to come up with some more fun things, too! Stay tuned ...
