Dr. Foley gave an updated presentation on the NJSLA Preliminary Scores: ELA, Math, Science 2023


1. Superintendent Recommendations Approved
A. Salary adjustment for Miranda Coughlan, Teacher, from BA to BA +15, to annual salary of $55,056

B. Resignation from Alexa Wright.

C. Resignation from Melissa Saggese

D. Hire Crystal Fried, Elementary Teacher, at a salary of 55,556.00, MA, Step A

E. FMLA for Jennifer Walker

F. Hire the following summer custodians as substitute custodians for the 23-24 school year: Mark Vogeding, $17.00 per hour, Max Medica, $15.00 per hour, Dillion Ireland, $15,00 per hour
G. Course reimbursement request from Lauren Ernst
H. Laurel Springs School, online accredited private school, as vendor for supplemental curricular programs for 2023-2024

I. Retroactive approval for the following teachers who attended the PreK/K orientation, August 31, 2023, stipend for two hours each at $35.00 per hour: Megan Ballinger, Kiley Barker, Stephanie Beckett, Susan Pipczynski, Tara Reale



2. Policy/Regulations
A. One time reading to adopt new Policy and Regulation 1642.01 and Policy and Regulation 2419, based on recently approved sick leave legislation, effective immediately, and recent NJDOE guidance provided to school districts effective 9/1/2023.

3. Curriculum & Instruction
A. Workshop:

2. Mrs. Whitcraft, Principal - NJPSA "Addressing Student Behavior at the Elementary Level", virtual - $100.00

4. Mrs. Whitcraft, Principal - NJPSA Annual Conference, Atlantic City, $198.00 + mileage, tolls


4. Budget & Finance

1. Tuition contact for 23-24 between GTSD and PHS
2. Agreement to Provide Chapter 226 Nonpublic Nursing Services for the 23-24 school year, between GTSD and GCSSSD

3. 2023-2024 Joint Transportation Agreement between Gateway Regional School District and GTSD, $185,000.00

4. Retroactive tuition for ESY student at Logan Township, special education program, $636.00

5. Retroactive tuition for Special Education student, Logan Township and GTSD for the 2023-2024 school year for $15,867.00

6. Approval of Strategic Planning 3D Model "Dream, Determination, and Destiny by Design" between GTBOE and NJ School Boards Association

7. Increase Building Based Substitute Teacher rate through ESS, from $110.00 per day to $125.00 per day.


5. Report of the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary- Approved

B. Student Activities Account statements June 2023

6. Old Business:

A. Correction to contract with Starlight Nursing Services, RN rate is $61.00 per hour and LPN is $51.00 per hour
B. John Tirico gave a presentation in response to questions from the BOE regarding Special Education


7. Correspondence:
A. Letter from the NJDOE regarding the NJQSAC Areas and Initial placement.

8. Public Session : Members from the public made comment on a variety of topics
Three members of the public asked questions on Special Education, Student Events and Transportation
