Wauwatosa Montessori School
May 27, 2020
Dear Families:
As the school year is wrapping up, I'm starting to get a number of questions about school in the Fall. At this point, the only information I can share with you is the district has begun the process of planning for various scenarios come Fall. Know we will update you as soon as we have more information.
With that in mind, we will still be mailing home 2020-2021 class placements for students that will be changing teachers next year (SK to 1st grade, 3rd grade to 4th grade and 6th grade to 7th grade). These will be mailed out on the last day of school. Additionally, we will send out our "Save the Dates" for back to school dates in August and September. Our goal here is for you to have these dates saved on your calendar, but please know that the format and/or dates may change based on procedures and protocols put in place, format of Fall learning, etc. We will keep you up to date as soon as we know more.
Lastly, don't forget to take advantage of the many free offerings through our Wauwatosa School District library media services.
- Design Challenge- the ever popular monthly design challenges that we engage in during the school year are now available for curbside pick up/delivery. This months challenge is a Mini- Catapult. Please see directions here, as well as information regarding how to put supply kits available for hold through Destiny/library online catalog.
- Podcasts - check out some kid friendly Podcasts on the Tosa School Libraries site! There is a great selection from Story Pirates, to NPR's WOW in the World and much more. This is a great chance to engage your child in listening to some great content, in child friendly terms without needing more screen time.
Sincerely,
Ashley Imperiale
Principal

EFW
If you're looking for another way to get the whole family active right now, consider joining the EFW for their virtual Rush for Education. Show your support for the Class of 2020, the grant recipients from your school, other classroom heroes and the Education Foundation of Wauwatosa, as you walk, run, jog, roll or rush out to the grocery store -- wherever you are, whenever you can by July 12. Here’s how it works:
- Register for this event on our page at RunSignUp. Every participant gets a T-shirt and a roll of finish line tape.
- Run, jog, walk, bike (or other activity of your choice) just one mile anytime between receiving your Rush for Education T-shirt and July 12. Be sure to follow all local guidelines for social distancing.
- Wear your T-shirt, snap a photo and share it on social media using the hashtag #RushForEducation and tag @tosaefw on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
