Are You Leaving Park Village?

The end of the school year is fast approaching and we need your cooperation in order to determine our staffing needs and class placements for next year. If you have moved or are planning to move out of the Park Village attendance area and your student WILL NOT be attending Park Village in the fall, please email Gigi Marquez at: amarquez@powayusd.com as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

2019-2020 Recycling Winners

By Victor Chan, Recycling Coordinator

Thank you to all who brought recyclable items to our monthly collections. We redeemed over $1000 worth again this year, with all the proceeds going directly to the school. Thank you also to those who came out to help sort and crush, kids included! Here are the top five students and the number of items they brought in:

  1. Brodin W. 3731
  2. Noelle K. 1825
  3. Lawson C. 1742
  4. Michael S. 1422
  5. Aneesh N 1350

Congratulations to Brodin for a great job collecting all the recyclables and winning again this year! His name has been added to the recycling perpetual plaque that is in the library. The competition was closer for the classroom that brought in the most, with second place bringing in 3257 pieces going to Mr. Hall's class, and first place with 4055 pieces goes to Mrs. Girod's class! Unfortunately due to the current circumstances the ice cream party can't be held, but kudos go to Leila J., Eunchae S., and Brodin W. for their contributions! To those of you who took the time to personally thank me for doing the collections, I really appreciate it! If anyone would like to help out or head up the recycling effort next year, drop a note to pvesdads1@gmail.com.

**REMINDERS**

Fifth Grade Promotion - Tuesday, June 2

This year, our promoting 5th graders will have the opportunity to participate in a “drive thru” parade style promotion similar to way we distributed Chromebooks and materials. The event will take place this coming Tuesday, June 2nd from 9:00 AM to approximately 1:15 PM in the main parking lot/ drop off area. In order to abide by public health and social distancing directives, the promotion ceremony is for 5th grade students and their families only.

School Issued Chromebooks and iPads

Due to the fluid nature of our current schooling situation, PUSD is allowing families to hold on to checked out devices beyond the end of the current school year. The only exception will be for 5th graders with a PVES owned iPad and those students who will not be returning to a PUSD school next year. We will tentatively be returning devices the week of June 8th. More details will be coming soon.

Virtual Variety Show

The Variety Show might have been canceled, but you can still show us your talent! Post a photo or brief video of your talent on social media (Facebook @parkvillagefoundation or Instagram @parkvillagef), tag us, and use the hashtag #HEYPVLOOKATME.

* Note, submissions grant PVF permission to repost on social media.

Lost & Found Items

Lost & Found items have been collected from PV, laundered, and are posted here. Email parkvillagefoundation@gmail.com to claim your item by Friday, June 5. Unclaimed items will be donated.

PTA Association Meeting - June 4th, 7pm

There will be a PTA Association Meeting on June 4th at 7pm via Zoom.

A zoom meeting link will be distributed to PTA members closer to the date. If you have any questions, please email: rmtviray@gmail.com.

Digital Libraries are Always Open

Check the list on the library’s website or the “Ebooks” page of the PVES Library course in MyConnect for lots of different ways to keep reading while school is closed.
