Alief ISD News and Recognitions
Olle Middle School teacher and students will present in the Houston History Conference's Houston Popup Museum on October 6.
Heather Lafon and her students will present as a part of the museum. Students will feature their project-based learning of living history performances ranging from the Colonial Era to the Revolution Era. The Houston History Conference is held by the Houston History Alliance.
Mata Intermediate School received donations from Tail to Tail Training.
This business partnered with Mata to fulfill teachers' classroom wish lists. Teachers received school supplies for their students.
Alief ISD staff member Edwin Molina is a published author.
Molina, who is a district Attendance Officer and Community Liaison, wrote Puerto Rico: Restoring Hope Through Poetry. This children's book is written as poetry and is about Puerto Rico's history and current state after Hurricane Maria. The book is written in both English and Spanish.
Proceeds from the book sales will be donated to assist Puerto Rico with its recovery efforts.
