The World of Westwood Wolves
Choose Your Own Adventure!
May 9-13, 2022
From the principal's office...
Westwood parents-
We had a great week despite the rainy, gloomy weather; it looks like it's going to feel like summer next week! Our 4th and 5th gradesr worked so hard on ACT Aspire this week, and I know they are glad it's over. If you have students who were absent for some of the testing, they will be making those up next week.
We have lots of fun things going on during the last few weeks of school, so please remind your students to continue working hard and being great listeners.
We are excited for our last book fair of the year next week, and this one is BOGO- Buy One Get One Free!
We look forward to watching our 4th graders perform Tuesday night! They need to be here at 5:30 (the doors will open at 5:30- no earlier); they will go to their classrooms and parents will go to the cafeteria and find seats. Concessions will be available for sale to benefit our Booster Club. We were able to provide some treats for teacher appreciation week from our Booster Club fund.
We sent home a very important letter in Tuesday folders this week regarding early dismissal on Wednesdays next year. If you have not returned the bottom part showing how your student(s) will be going home on Wednesdays when we dismiss at 1:50. As of right now, school will dismiss at 3:10 on every day except for Wednesdays. We are expecting school to continue starting at 7:45. We will let you know if there are any changes.
As a reminder to parents/those who pick up car riders on the east side of the building by the gym- for safety reasons, we only release students once Mrs. Olga or Mr. Joey put in car tag numbers on the iPad which makes the names come up on screens in the classrooms. I've asked the teachers to ensure that kids who leave at the walker bell are truly walkers; once the car line starts, students will be sent out when their names appear on the screens. All cars should come through the line to pick up students- no one should be parking in order to pick up. We are fortunate that our car line on the side goes quickly, and we appreciate your cooperation in order to maintain safety.
Have a great week!
Love,
Mrs. Crumby (your proud principal)
